Visitors from most countries are required to have visas to enter Cambodia except countries such as; Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, Laos, Thailand, Myanmar and Vietnam.
The types of visa types that you can apply for are tourist visa type and business visa type.
The tourist visa will set you back USD 30 and USD 35 for the business visa also known as the ordinary visa.
The biggest difference with those two visa types is that a tourist visa can only be extended once for a maximum period of 2 months whereas, for a business visa, it can be extended multiple times for periods of up to a year more.
Some staff would try to charge more for the visas especially at the land crossing borders.
Always hold out for the original price but do not be upset if you happen to pay a little extra.
Visas can be obtained at Cambodian embassies and consulates.
Visas are also available on arrival at any of the international airports or the major land crossings.
You should have a valid passport and also a passport photo with you to apply for the visa. However, without the passport photo, you would be required to pay USD 2.
Citizens of most countries can apply for an E-visa online on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
When applying for your visa online, the tourist visa will cost you USD 36 instead of the normal USD 30. This includes the card processing fee.
Take care as fake sites are offering the visa application process. They usually are travel agencies that will most likely overcharge you and end up paying between USD 36 – USD 50 at best.
At worst, you might end up with a fake visa in totality.
Be very careful with fake sites. Always ensure it is the official Cambodian government site you are applying from.
