Traveling to Europe for the first time was such an exciting experience for me. I couldn't wait to try the incredible cuisine, see all of the wonderful attractions, and get lost in the cobblestoned streets I had heard and read so much about!
After visiting, I realized there were so many things I wished I had known before getting there. From planning my trip to the return journey, I learned so much along the way.
Now, I have finally written it all down to help my fellow travelers and any first time visitors to Europe!
Check your Passport. If your passport expires within 6 months of your departure date, you may not be allowed to travel. Check that your passport has at least one year before expiration to ensure a successful departure.
Learn a Few Phrases in the Local Language. Learning a few phrases won't only help you, but the locals as well if you need to ask for help. Simple communication is key to an enjoyable trip. Plus, learning new languages is fun!
Pack Appropriately. Packing for the weather is a good start, but you'll want to do a little research on how locals tend to dress, as well.
Be Prepared to Walk... A Lot. Sites and attractions can be a long distance from each other, so come prepared with good walking shoes!
Get Out of Your Comfort Zone. Don't be afraid to try new things! Europe is known for its sensational cuisine and exotic adventures of all different varieties and styles and should be explored to the fullest.
