Best way to get to Gardens By The Bay in Singapore

  • Gardens by the Bay is located extremely centrally and is very easy to get to. It's right next to the Marina Bay Sands complex
  • The best way to get there is by public transportation on Singapore's MRT metro system. The cost will be less than SGD$2 (USD$1.5) from pretty much anywhere in Singapore, including Changi International Airport
  • Here's how to get to Gardens by the Bay on MRT:
  1. Take the MRT to Bayfront Station, located here. Bayfront Station is accessible on both the Circle (orange) Line and the Downtown (blue) Line. Here's link to some useful resources about the MRT:
  2. Fare calculator: You can buy single-ride ticket with cash at any station (credit card is not accepted but if you have a contactless Visa or Mastercard you can tap them directly into station)
  3. Current MRT map:
  4. Get off the train, and then follow signs for Gardens by the Bay to exit B, like this:User submitted photo of Gardens By The Bay
  5. This will require you to walk underground for a few minutes, through a hall like this:User submitted photo of Gardens By The Bay
  6. Eventually you'll see stairs and elevator to take you back to the ground level
  7. When you get to the ground level, you'll have to cross a bridge to get to the Gardens. You have two options. Path 1 via Dragonfly Bridge is the most popular one because it's short (only 5-minute walk). Path 2 via Meadow Bridge is less popular and is about a 10-minute walk:User submitted photo of Gardens By The Bay

  • If you don't want to deal with public transportation, you can also take taxi to get to it. This is the best option if you want to come straight from the airport and only have limited time for layover. Cost of taxi will vary by distance:
  • From Changi International Airport: ~SGD$25 (USD$18)
  • From border with Malaysia: ~SGD$25 (USD$18)
  • From the downtown area: ~SGD$8-15 (USD$6-$11)
