The market extends all the way along the streets of Djemaa-el- Fna, so instead of going deep inside the market, stay along the street. If you want to go deep into the market get a licensed guide.
If your phone's GPS works really well, you can go inside, though the narrow paths in the market are not mapped yet, you should be able to track your way out with the help of a good GPS system.
Allergies
Streets are lined with spices, the place is crowded and temperatures being high as they normally are, many people get out of the souk with serious migraines, flu and may end up sick. If you're affected by stuffy conditions, don't go deep into the market, or should you have to go deep inside, go in the morning or late in the evening when it's less hot.
Haggling
Don't negotiate the price then leave without purchasing the product, it won't go well and the trader may end up calling you names.
If you know you won't purchase the product don't negotiate the price. Nonetheless always bargain when you want to buy a product so that you get a good deal.
