Cabo San Lucas is a city at the southern end of the Baja peninsula, Mexico. I had a solo trip to San Lucas last year and I'm gonna give you all info you need to know before visiting
How to get to Cabo San Lucas.
The easiest way is to fly to San Luca. I flew from Tijuana to Cabo San Lucas using Volaris ( I discovered its the cheapest airline after searching around).
Flight time: 2 hours, but there is a one hour difference between Tijuana and Cabo San Lucas.
Cost: $ 120 for a round trip. On other airlines, prices can be as high as $400.
The cheapest way to Get To San Lucas From The Los Cabos International Airport.
I took the Ruta Del desertio bus. Their buses are parked just outside both terminals, you can't miss them.
Cost: $5 ( 80 pesos) from the airport to the downtown Marina, the bus also makes a single stop at Puerto Paradiso mall before getting to the downtown Marina. You still pay the same fare regardless of where you alight.
Duration: 50 minutes.
Best way to get around San Lucas
Car rentals worked really great for me since I was staying around for two weeks. I got a standard car with Thrifty for $5 per day.
Taxis in San Lucas are really expensive and unmetered. The base fare for most drivers starts at $10. My Advice: Don't use taxis if you'll be staying in San Lucas for more than 3 days.
Budget activities to Do In San Lucas
Visit Playa del Amor beach. Visiting the beach is free. From here you can make a tour of Los Cabos arch on an open glass kayak boat. Most tours start at $70 but negotiate the price, I landed a boat tour at $50.
Visit Iglesia de San Lucas and town square - free
Humpback whale watching - I did a tour for $70.
Visit Playa Medano - it's San Lucas's most crowded beach but there are all sorts of cheap activities to do here for everyone.
