How to take Metro Line10 to Hongqiao Airport or Hongqiao Train Station in Shanghai

  • Make sure you are on the right train as the metro splits into 2 routes at Longxi Station (see photo)
  • Hongqiao Airport: It goes first to T1 then T2. It's a 10min walk from metro to Checkin counter at T2. Don't remember about T1
  • Hongqiao Train Station: requires a long walk once out of the metro stop so leave enough time before train
  • The “for public transportation card holder only” sign on T2 just means you won’t be able to transfer there to Line2 with your ticket unless you hold a Shanghai public transportation card. You simply just need to exit L10, buy another ticket to transfer to L2

How do you know the correct version train to take at the station? Does the train have some display on the side or something?

Not sure about diaplay on the train itself but there are display screens on the platform which shows the final destination. There will be announcement in English as well. When you are on the train look for the route map as shown in the photo, the current path lights up. Cheers!
