Ticket to the Beijing Summer Palace

  • There are two kinds of tickets they sell for Beijing's Summer Palace (Yiheyuan)
  1. General Admission: price is ¥20 in the winter (Nov. 1 - Mar. 31) / ¥30 in the summer (Apr. 1 - Oct. 31)
  2. SuperSaver Admission: price is ¥50 in the winter (Nov. 1 - Mar. 31) / ¥60 in the summer (Apr. 1 - Oct. 31)
  • I recommend the general admission instead of the supersaver, because of the four extra attractions inside the Palace included in the supersaver ticket, only two are worth visiting in my opinion
  • Specifically, only Suzhou Street (苏州街 ¥10) and the Tower of Buddhist Incense (佛香阁 ¥10) are worth visiting, and buying them separately inside the Palace will only cost you ¥20 extra instead of ¥30 extra of the supersaver ticket
  • There is no need to buy tickets online before your visit, because there is no limit to how many visitors they let in. The Palace is very big. The ticketing website is also only in Chinese
  • Bring your passport just in case. Officially you do not need a passport to get in, but this is China so things change all the time and you might get denied entry (has happened to other visitors before)
  • This is the official English website of the Summer Palace for more information
