Free wifi overview

As travellers, we all need free wifi from time to time. To save you some hassles, here's what you should know:

  • The best way to get free wifi in Canada in public places is to go to your nearest Starbucks. Their wifi does not require any purchase or local phone number, there are no time limits, and the speed is good enough for even watching YouTube. Google maps or Starbucks app can tell you where the closest Starbucks is.
  • Aside from Starbucks, you can also try McDonald's, Tim Horton's, and Second Cup. These are all national coffee shop chains and they all have decent wifi that generally do not require you to enter any sort of code.
  • Major airports (including Toronto) will all have acceptably-fast free wifi
  • Public library in Toronto has free wifi for anyone who need them. The speed is pretty good

It is not good to use free wifi, always connect a vpn and then use free wifi. You never know your data would be compromised. On top of it, I always use dedicated ip vpn from purevpn for extra bit of stability and getting away from authentication specially when I need to access online banking stuff while travelling.
