HOW TO GET TUMPAK SEWU

Tumpak Sewu is best waterfall in Java located in the border Malang regency and Lumajang regency, from Malang around 2.30h. It better based from Malang. From Surabaya around 4 - 5h depend on traffic. Minibuses are public transportation to get to Tumpak Sewu but are not recommended because they are time dependent and are rarely available, waiting for the next minibus is very long especially when in the afternoon, it is difficult to find it. In addition to the waterfall, you will get an additional cave named Goa Tetes which is close to the waterfall as an additional activity. This is one of the waterfalls that has an interesting adventure. An effective alternative plan is that you can combine Tumpak Sewu and mt Bromo for only one day. Or Malang -> Tumpak Sewu -> Bromo -> Ijen 3 days. This 3 days tour is an effective plan in terms of distance, time and cost. After climb in Ijen direct by ferry go to Bali.

If start from Surabaya, you can stay in Tumpak Sewu and Start from malang stay in Cemoro lawang (Bromo)

Bromo is one of the most active volcanoes in Indonesia also one of the Indonesia's iconic tourist destination. The beauty of nature surrounding area, the scenery is very stunning and impressive. Dry season is the best time to visit Bromo (march - october) In this area there is a caldera of sea sand. At the base of the Tengger caldera, a stretch of 6,000 hectares of sea of sand is what local residents call Segoro Wedi. In the middle of the caldera base, there are several mountains and one of them is Bromo Volcano which is used as a place to throw offerings in the Kasodo ceremony.

HOW TO REACH BROMO

There are 2 alternative transportation by plane or train. With an airplane you can transit at Surabaya Juanda international airport. With a train that starts from Jakarta / Yogyakarta, you can choose to transit in cities of Malang and Surabaya, from the 2 cities approximately 3 hours away. Why should transit in 2 cities, because there is the best waterfall in east java that you might not miss. (Tumpak Sewu waterfall). But there are also those who get with public transportation, the main difficulty is reaching the Probolinggo bus station and back down to Probolinggo. There isn't public transportation in evening. The problem is that this public transportation will depart Bromo when it is full. It is very long wait. And driver confused about where you want to drop you off. In anywhere other than the bus station because of communication.

In Indonesia Surabaya is second the biggest city after Jakarta, of course offers many variants of hotels widely spread throughout the city. But in Malang city is a beautiful place and has many hotel variant also such as homestay, guesthouse and hotel, but there some lodge that are very fitting for the atmosphere, price and service.
